Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

The data controller is Corte Acquaviva, [Company name and VAT number of the controller to be added], Via Giulio Acquaviva 22, 73020 Bagnolo del Salento (LE), Italy. For any question about this notice or your data, write to prenotazioni@corteacquaviva.com.

2. At a glance

• This site does not use cookies, nor any analytics, profiling or advertising tools.
• Fonts and the map library are hosted on our own site: browsing our pages does not contact Google Fonts or other CDNs.
• The Contact form does not send data to a server: it prepares an email that you decide whether to send.
• We process guest data only to manage the booking and the stay and to meet legal obligations (police registration, tourism statistics, accounting).

3. What data we process, why and for how long

Providing data for a request is optional, but without contact details we cannot reply. Check-in data is required by law: without it, we cannot host you. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing.

If you book through Airbnb or Booking.com, the platform processes your data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy and passes on to us the data needed to manage your stay, which we process as described above.

4. The Contact form

When you press "Send request", the site opens your email program (e.g. Gmail, Outlook, Mail) with a ready-made message to prenotazioni@corteacquaviva.com: we receive nothing until you send it. The site does not record or store the data on a server.

So that you don't lose what you typed when you change page, the form fields are temporarily saved in your browser's storage (localStorage) and deleted when you send the request. They stay only on your device and we cannot read them; you can delete them at any time by clearing this site's browsing data.

5. Cookies

This site does not set any cookies, either its own or third-party, and does not use analytics, profiling or advertising tools. The only browser storage used is the technical one for the Contact form described in section 4, which provides a function you requested and therefore does not require consent (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and the Italian Data Protection Authority's cookie guidelines of June 10, 2021). This is why the site does not show a cookie consent banner.

If we ever introduce cookies or tools that require consent, we will update this notice and ask for your consent before enabling them.

Esri, Google and WhatsApp process the technical data collected through their services as independent controllers: see the privacy policies of Esri, Google and WhatsApp.

7. Who we share data with

• Public Security authorities (Questura), through the Alloggiati Web portal, and public statistical systems, as required by law.
• The accountant or firm that keeps our books, for tax purposes.
• Technical providers that help us run the site, email and communications, only as far as needed for their service.

We do not sell data and we do not use it to send you advertising.

8. Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers (Cloudflare, Esri, Google, Meta) are based in the United States. Transfers take place on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for participating companies, or of the standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission.

9. Your rights

You can ask at any time for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest (Articles 15-22 GDPR), by writing to prenotazioni@corteacquaviva.com. Erasure is not possible for data we are legally required to keep.

If you believe the processing breaches data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Garante per la protezione dei dati personali or with the supervisory authority of the country where you live.

10. Changes to this notice

We update this notice when the services used by the site or the way we handle bookings change. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page. Booking conditions are on the Terms and Conditions page.
