The refuge of the countryside
The pajaru is one of the most authentic structures in the Salento countryside. Built entirely from dry stone, it sheltered farmers during their work in the fields and held their tools, their harvest, and the precious silence of the countryside. Simple in form, it holds the ingenuity of an architecture born in perfect harmony with nature.
